I am originally from the Philippines, but I have now made United States my home country. I am a current resident of Los Angeles and have been for many years. I could not imagine spending the rest of my life elsewhere.
Although I am not a filmmaker by trade, I feel that I have many stories to tell. I've always known this about myself, in my writing, in my intellectual pursuits, and in ways that I approach different aspects of my life. I always take great pleasure expressing myself artistically whenever possible. So last year, when the pandemic began disrupting many lives here in Los Angeles, mine included, a moment of clarity presented itself before me, which I then made into a mission to follow a new path. This, I never thought would happen. For most of my life, cinema and filmmaking is always a dream made for someone else but me. It was never within my reach. About a year ago, my father passed away. Shortly thereafter, the pandemic devastated the world and began to turn our lives into constant chaos, panic and isolation. Too many deaths, too many losses. That’s when I realized that my life is far too short to be afraid... of trying. In October last year, I finally drew up a courage to buy my first mirrorless camera that can shoot video. The rest is stories being told as I write this moment to you.
