Director Statement

I'm an British/Austrian documentary filmmaker.

I am an avid lover of a good story especially those involving wildly imaginative scenarios. An island dominated by genetically reproduced dinosaurs. A time-travelling AI on a mission to assassinate the mother of a future military commander. However I have come to see that the real world has more complexity and drama that the even the world's most imaginative writer could not conjure up. Indeed much of the fascinating ideas which attract masses to the cinema are borrowed and embellished concepts from the world right outside our doorstep.

We are all part of the incredibly dramatic human condition which is both gloriously destructive and beautifully progressive. The art of documentary with its implicit commitment to portraying truth, not only fascinates me by reporting on the incredible world we find ourselves in but also provides an added richness of emotion due to the knowledge that what I am viewing has occurred in the very same world I cohabit.
