Kevin Kincaid is an award winning indie filmmaker. He is a digital native who worked thru the age of celluloid. On his journey his films and projects have played at major film festivals like SXSW, Cannes, Clermont, TIFF, Austin, Melbourne, and FIN, and have won awards as best picture, best actor, best composer and best sound design.
Kincaid won the CBC/Film NS Bridge Award to produce his first short “Bernard the Magician” then attended the Cineplex Producer’s Lab at CFC. He produced “North Mountain” an award winning Two Spirited (lgbtq+ /Indigenous) cop thriller which has Canadian and US distribution through Ravenbanner. Of the numerous accolades for “North Mountain”, winning Best Feature at the Screen NS awards was a particularly satisfying validation from the home town community.
After that Kincaid wrote/directed/produced the documentary “Raina: A Year and Half in the Life of a Mermaid”. In 2019, Kincaid produced “Little Grey Bubbles” that played all over the world (SXSW, Clermont, Melbourne) and won best short at the 2019 FIN Film Fest. In 2020 Kincaid co-directed/co wrote a short “Little King” that won Best Film at the Toronto Actra 24 hr challenge and another world premiere at SXSW 2020 for the second year in a row with a project he executive produced called “LUST”.
In the middle of covid, in the middle of nowhere, we created this short drugged out, fast paced, slice of life, action/triller film with a twist at the end. The writer/producer/lead actor/ & fight creator of Hook Line n' Sinker is Brynn Knickle. This is her first of many to come.
