Homosafe

Lorin Murphy is an experimental filmmaker, projection-based artist, screeenwriter, director, and cinematographer. He is a Bay Area native, and a cofounder of Periwinkle Cinema, dedicated to showcasing the work of queer and trans filmmakers at all stages. A gay trans man, he has been creating film and video in the Bay since 2000. Lorin draws influence from the local events happening around Oakland and San Francisco and across California. These issues, as well as his history as a queer person involved in the intersection of art and activism from the time he came out, influences his creative process and his subjects. He lives in Oakland.
