Sean is a first generation German-American who was born and raised in Massachusetts. In spite of his best efforts to do anything else, entertaining people through story has always found its way into his life.
He received a dual degree and Kinesiology and Biochemistry before attending drama school at The Studio/New York. Shortly after graduating he moved to Los Angeles where he began to work in film and television.
He enjoys blurring the lines between comedy and drama, while exploring darker themes in his work. He can be seen in various positions in front of, and behind the camera in the upcoming films; Year of the Detectives, The Contrast, Fuego, Lola, Homestead Host, and Drinking Cups for a Canary.
I wrote Homestead Host at the beginning of quarantine when I found myself spending way too much time on my phone. I had just lost my job and was attempting to find anything that would help me forget or process what was going on in the world. I put all of that energy into writing this project that is an exploration of how we put our best selves forward on the internet, and if we aren’t careful it can take over our lives.
Technology is a tool, but it will not solve our problems for us. With that in mind, I put my phone to use as my only available camera. I lit the scenes with the lights I had on hand, and I talked my girlfriend into co-starring with me. After several days of shooting in LA, and finishing production at our new home in New Mexico, Homestead Host had life.
While Rick’s story exposes one man’s fragile ego grappling with a robot of himself that doesn’t have boundaries, the most impactful message Homestead Host gives its viewers is that you can’t run from your problems, and trying to outsource them will ultimately cost you more personally than you want it to.
