Experiencing Interruptions?

Homerton 2 Homerton

A tender short documentary following the unfolding of a generational cycle between a single mother and her son, exampled in their different encounters with Homerton.

Jessica’s Homerton is an East London council flat, her first home in England after leaving Nigeria due to a military coup. Whereas Arel’s Homerton is the Cambridge University college where he studies Physics.

The short documentary highlights the symbiotic relationship between our parents’ trials and our triumphs. It uses archive, poetry, and themes of afro-futurism to link physics student Arel, to his mother’s past.
