Oscar Rudecindo is an Afro-Latino filmmaker from the Dominican Republic based in Los Angeles, California. He's most commonly known for his work in front of the camera on Netflix's Christmas Rom-Com, Falling For Christmas and Facebook Watch's, Mira Mira.
Oscar's passion for storytelling extends beyond acting as he's recently written, directed, and produced his first short film: Homecoming. Oscar has every intention of continuing to develop is own work and tell stores unique to his perspective, shedding light on the experiences of underrepresented communities.
Growing up within a Latinx household, I continuously found myself victim to certain cultural dynamics that I've come to realize divide us a people rather than bring us together. Because of that, I was inspired to tell a story of the potential harm that's done when we fail to recognize those practices. Cultural beliefs surrounding sexual identity and toxic masculinity are at the forefront of this film, two concepts that I believe are most relevant in today's current social climate.
Although told from the perspective of parents navigating the complexities of their son's sexuality, this films tragedy will undoubtable lead anyone to value time; specifically the time we have to say or do the things that might make a difference.
