Director Biography - Adrijana Danchevska

Adrijana Dancevska is one of the first young choreographers of the Skopje Dance Theater, the first official company for contemporary dance in Macedonia. She works as a dancer and choreographer in Skopje Dance Theater, led by Risima Risimkin and is a professional associate of the Department of Contemporary Dance at the University "Goce Delchev", Stip. She did her MA in choreography at the University of Audiovisual Arts, ESRA, Skopje-Paris-New York 2019, where she also graduated in 2014 with the Skopje Dance Academy. She is part of the teaching team at the first CEEC Summer Dance Camp in China in 2015. That same year she worked as a dancer on Tanec Prague with Yukio Suzuki and the Balkan Dance Project vol.1. As a choreographer, she works through the extreme emotional states of the individual on stage and is a provocateur in the Macedonian contemporary scene. In 2016 she created "Symbol", performed on "MOT" with Aleksandra Petrushevska. In 2017 she worked as a choreographer at the University of Fine Arts in Zurich, ZHdK.
The premiere of "w r o n g" was in Zurich, then redone with Skopje Dance Theater and performed on Dance Fest Skopje, Silk Road Festival, China; SHARE, Slovakia in 2017 and the prestigious Holland Dance Festival in 2018.
In 2018, she prepared “D.O.L" with Skopje Dance Theater for the opening of Dance Fest Skopje at the Macedonian National Theater. Dancevska's “Sketch” was produced by Codarts and performed on Talent On The Move 2019 in Skopje and The Netherlands. Redone with Skopje Dance Theater and premiered on Dance Fest Skopje the same year.
Her last work is “Home”-The movie & “Home”-The performance which premiered on Dance Fest Skopje 2020. Both productions were executed throughout the Covid-19 Pandemic. "Home"-The movie is the first dance film produced in North Macedonia.
As a dancer she performed on the following festivals: Battery Dance Festival, USA; Holland Dance Festival; Silk Road, China; Meet in Beijing; Tanec Praha; Its Festival, Amsterdam; Masdanza, Canary Islands; Tanzmesse, Cologne; San Vicente, Croatia.
