Tribute to a young witch
In 1972, the writer Julio Cortázar was shocked when he saw Rita Renoir's Le Diable at the Théâtre de Plaisance. He wrote a text, published ten years later, describing the play in which the former stripper turned actress falls into a trance, possessed by the devil. Threatened with a ban, the show was a huge success and ran for over five years. Rita's two lovers, Jean-Pierre and Anne, took hundreds of photographs of the show, which I used to reconstruct it. From these images and Cortázar's words, the witch reappears.
