Holiday!

Holiday is a short visual comedy set in a sleepy Cornish fishing village. A French holidaymaker pays a visit there on a friend’s recommendation, and is on the lookout for the best ice-cream around. We soon get distracted by the town’s inhabitants, and a closer look reveals the funny occurrences that would otherwise go unnoticed.

Director Biography - Toby Matthews

Toby Matthews is a filmmaker living and working in Falmouth, Cornwall. He has been making films from a young age, resulting in a long and varied output spanning multiple genres and themes. Among recent credits are the Cumbrian road-movie 'Worthy is the Lamb' (2018), and comic neo-noir 'Blue Mice' (in post-production). His latest film, 'Holiday!' (2019), is a physical comedy, filmed on location in Cornwall, that harkens back to the work of Jacques Tati and Buster Keaton. It displays an appreciation for simpler times, and shows that in slowing down and looking up from your phone once in a while, it is possible to find humour in the seeming mundanity of everyday life.
