Reglement 2025
In het kader van het Holebifilmfestival wordt een kortfilmwedstrijd met een LGBTIQ+ thema georganiseerd. Het doel van de wedstrijd is het promoten van kortfilms met een LGBTIQ+ thema.
Iedereen uit binnen- of buitenland mag deelnemen aan deze wedstrijd. Enkel juryleden van de wedstrijd en organisatoren van het Holebifilmfestival worden uitgesloten.
Voorwaarden waaraan de ingezonden films moeten voldoen:
Het LGBTIQ+ thema moet duidelijk in de kortfilm aanwezig zijn. Werk van alle genres wordt geaccepteerd, onder andere fictie, documentaire, animatie, videoclips en videokunst. Pornografisch getinte kortfilms zijn evenwel niet toegelaten.
Alle ingezonden films, ook Nederlandstalige, moeten aangeleverd worden met ondertitels in het Engels of het Nederlands.
Deze ondertitels dienen bezorgd te worden als een SubRip (.srt) bestand. Dit formaat geniet de voorkeur van de organisatie. Dit laat immers toe de ondertitels in het Nederlands te vertalen.
Bij uitzondering worden ook films aanvaard waarbij de ondertitels visueel aanwezig zijn in het filmbestand.
Als laatste optie kunnen ook films aanvaard worden waarvan een eenvoudige transcriptie van de dialogen wordt bezorgd. Het formaat van aanleveren kan impliciet een effect hebben op de resultaten van de selectieprocedure.
Het filmfestival heeft het recht om de ondertitels te vertalen voor vertoningen.
De duur van de film bedraagt minimum 2 minuten en maximum 20 minuten. In overleg met de organisatie, kunnen we hier uitzonderlijk en beperkt van afwijken. Gelieve contest@holebikort.be te contacteren.
De productie van de kortfilms in competitie moet voltooid zijn in 2023 of later. Oudere films worden niet aanvaard.
De ingezonden kortfilms dienen aangeleverd te worden in een resolutie van minimaal 1280x720 pixels (HD 720p). De beeldkwaliteit moet voldoende goed zijn om op een bioscoopscherm in een filmzaal vertoond te worden. Voorts mag de film geen watermerk of andere storende elementen bevatten. Aangezien de films aan de vakjury worden getoond, is het van het allergrootste belang dat dit in optimale condities gebeurt.
De kortfilm wordt ingeschreven voor de wedstrijd met instemming van de producent en regisseur. De deelnemer moet over alle rechten beschikken van de ingediende film.
De deelname aan de wedstrijd is gratis.
De kortfilm moet aan de organisatie aangeboden worden als download op een multimediasite of andere downloadsite of fileserver. De organisatie zal de URL in kwestie of de gedownloade materialen niet publiek beschikbaar stellen. De film moet aangeboden worden in een gangbaar video-formaat.
Eén deelnemer mag verschillende films inzenden. Hiervoor dient telkens een afzonderlijk registratieformulier ingestuurd te worden.
Inzendingen van vorige edities van deze wedstrijd mogen niet meer deelnemen of ingezonden worden.
Door deelname geeft de inzender de toelating om de ingezonden kortfilms te vertonen tijdens de edities 2025, 2026 van het Holebifilmfestival (www.holebifilmfestival.be).
Alsook geeft de inzender de toestemming om de kortfilms te vertonen in het kader van educatieve doeleinden in 2025, 2026 en 2027.
Voor geen van deze vertoningen kan een vergoeding voor auteursrechten of andere rechten bekomen worden.
Wel zal steeds de naam van de regisseur vermeld worden.
Iedere inzender waarborgt dat hij/zij de volledige rechthebbende is van de ingezonden werken en dat het hier om origineel werk gaat en niet om een reproductie of kopie van bestaand werk. Het Holebifilmfestival kan geen enkele verantwoordelijkheid aanvaarden voor mogelijke inbreuken op de auteursrechten van derden en kan niet verantwoordelijk gesteld worden in geval van misbruik van auteursrechten. Wanneer een klacht ingediend wordt door derden, zal de deelnemer alle verantwoordelijkheid op zich nemen en het Holebifilmfestival vrijstellen.
Hoe kan men zich inschrijven?
Deelnemers dienen zich administratief in te schrijven alvorens een kortfilm in te sturen. Dit kan gebeuren door het invullen van een registratieformulier op www.holebikort.be. Inschrijven dient te gebeuren vóór 30 juni 2025. Uw inschrijving wordt bevestigd per mail. In deze mail vindt u eveneens uw inschrijvingsnummer.
Uiterlijk op 30 juni 2025 moet iedere deelnemende kortfilm (met ondertitels) in het bezit zijn van het organiserend comité.
Hoe worden de films beoordeeld?
Eerst worden de inzendingen getoetst aan de hoger gestelde voorwaarden.
Vervolgens zal de organisatie een preselectie maken. Deze preselectie is in handen van de organisatoren van de wedstrijd en gebeurt uitsluitend na het bekijken van de film door ten minste drie leden van het organiserend comité. Deze shortlist zal dan nadien aan de jury voorgelegd worden.
Een professionele jury maakt uit deze preselectie een selectie van de beste films. Er is geen verhaal mogelijk tegen de beslissing van de organisatie en jury.
U wordt ten laatste op 20 september 2025 per mail op de hoogte gesteld of uw film al dan niet weerhouden is.
Wanneer geen enkele inzending voldoet, behoudt het organiserend comité zich het recht voor om geen winnaar aan te duiden.
De selectie van de jury zal vertoond worden op de prijsuitreiking van Holebikort 2025.
Het aanwezige publiek zal tenslotte de uiteindelijke winnaar bepalen. In geval van een ex aequo bij de publieksstemming is de volgorde zoals origineel gequoteerd door de jury bepalend.
Naast de publieksstemming, selecteert de jury in samenspraak met de organisatie een winnaar voor de ‘Thema Award’.
De Thema Award wordt uitgereikt aan de beste kortfilm in het thema van het Holebifilmfestival. Voor Holebikort 2025 is dit thema ‘Be Queer/Be Proud/Be You'.
Prijzen
Het prijzengeld is als volgt:
De winnaar ontvangt de som van 2.000 euro
De winnaar van de ‘Thema Award’ ontvangt 500 euro.
Het uitgereikte geldbedrag is bestemd voor de regisseur en zal enkel op rekening van de regisseur uitbetaald worden.
Over aangelegenheden niet voorzien in dit reglement wordt beslist door het organiserend comité van de wedstrijd. Zij zullen hun beslissing toelichten indien de deelnemer aan de wedstrijd dit wenst. Betwistingen i.v.m. dit reglement kunnen uitsluitend via aangetekend schrijven. Door deelname verklaart de betrokkene zich akkoord met dit reglement en met de beslissingen van de organisatie en jury.

De bekendmaking van de winnaar en prijsuitreiking zal plaats hebben op een nader te bepalen plaats en datum in november 2025. Elke deelnemer zal daarop uitgenodigd worden. De prijs wordt aan de winnende regisseur overhandigd.
Dit reglement wordt ter beschikking gesteld in het Nederlands en in het Engels. In geval van discussie is het Nederlandstalige reglement bepalend en correct.
Rules 2025
On the occasion of the Holebifilmfestival, a contest in short films with an LGBTIQ+ theme is organized. The purpose of this contest is to promote short films with an LGBTIQ+ theme.
Everyone is allowed to participate in this contest, directors from Belgium or abroad. Only members of the contest's jury and organizers of the Holebifilmfestival are excluded from competition.
Conditions to be fulfilled by the participating films :
The LGBTIQ+ theme must be clearly present in the short film. Works of any sort will be accepted, among others fiction, documentary, animation, video clips and video art. However, pornographic short films are not allowed.
All participating films must be delivered with subtitles in English or Dutch.
These subtitles must be delivered as a SubRip (.srt) file. This format is preferred by the organization. It will allow the subtitles to be translated in Dutch.
Exceptionally, films can also be accepted with subtitles that are embedded visually in the video stream.
As a last resort, films for which a simple dialogue list is delivered can also be accepted. The delivered format can implicitly affect the results of the selection procedure.
The Holebifilmfestival is allowed to translate the subtitles for public exhibition.
The duration of the film is at least 2 minutes and at most 20 minutes. In consultation with the organization, we can deviate from this exceptionally and to a limited extent. Please contact contest@holebikort.be.
Production of the short films entering the contest must have been completed in 2023 or later, older films are not accepted.
The participating short films must be delivered in a resolution of at least 1280x720 pixels (HD 720p). The quality must be sufficiently high to be shown on a cinematic screen in a movie theater. Furthermore, the film must not contain any watermark or other disturbing elements. Since the films are shown to the jury, it is of utmost importance that this is done in optimal conditions.
The short film is registered for the contest with the agreement of the producer and director. The participant must have to his/her disposal all the rights on the submitted film.
The participation in the contest is free of charge.
The short film has to be offered for download to the organization on a multimedia site or other download site or file server. The organization will not make the received URL or any of the downloaded materials available to the public. The film must be offered in a reasonably common video format.
One participant may submit multiple films, in this case a separate registration form must be sent in for each film.
Submissions to earlier editions are not allowed to participate at the contest again.
By participating, permission is granted to exhibit the short films during the 2025, 2026 editions of the Holebifilmfestival (www.holebifilmfestival.be).
As well as the permission should be granted to exhibit the short films for educational purposes in 2025, 2026 and 2027.
For all these screenings, no compensation for author’s or other rights can be claimed. When exhibited, the name of the director will always be mentioned.
Every participant guarantees that he/she fully is the rightful claimant of the participating works and that it concerns an original work and not a reproduction or a copy of an existing work. The Holebifilmfestival cannot accept any responsibility for possible infringements of the copyright of third parties and it cannot be held responsible in case of copyright abuse. When a complaint is lodged by third parties, the participant will take all responsibility and exempt the Holebifilmfestival.
How to enter the contest?
Participants need to register before sending in a short film. This can be done by filling in a registration form on the website www.holebikort.be. Registration needs to be completed before 30 June 2025. Your registration will be assigned a registration number and will be confirmed by email.
At the latest on 30 June 2025, all submitted material must be in the possession of the organization of the contest.
How are the films evaluated?
The entries are first assessed according to the requirements listed above.
Then the organization makes a pre-selection. The pre-selection is up to the organizers of the contest and is done only after the film has been viewed by at least three members of the organizing committee. This short-list will be presented to the members of the jury.
A professional jury will make a selection of the best films out of this
pre-selection. There is no possibility of redress against the decision of the jury.
At the latest on 20 September 2025, you are informed by email if your film is retained or not.
When no entry fulfills the requirements listed above, the organizing committee has the right not to select a winner.
The selection of the jury will be shown at the award ceremony of Holebikort 2025.
The audience attending the award ceremony will choose the actual winner from this selection. In case of a draw of the audience votes, the order as quoted originally by the jury determines the winner.
In addition to the public vote, the jury, in consultation with the organization, selects winners for the "Theme Award".
The Theme Award is presented to the best short film in the theme of the Holebifilmfestival. For Holebikort 2025 is the theme 'Be Queer/Be Proud/Be You'.
The prize money of Holebikort is the following:
The winner will receive the sum of 2.000 Euros.
The winner of the "Theme Award" will receive the sum of 500 euros.
The prize amount is intended for the director and will only be paid on the bank account of the director.
About matters that are not covered by these regulations is decided by the organizing committee of the contest. They will clarify their decision if desired by the contestant. Disputes concerning these regulations can only be communicated by means of registered post. By participating, the concerned persons declare to agree to these regulations and to the decisions of the organizers and the jury.

The proclamation of the winner and the distribution of the prize will take place during an award ceremony on a location and a date in november 2025. The exact date will be announced later. Each participant is invited to this event. The prize will be handed over to the winning director.
These regulations are made available in Dutch and English. In case of dispute, the Dutch version will be effective.
