This song, "Holding the Heart When it Breaks" is particularly special for me. I was commissioned by Diane Kaufman, MD to compose and record a song based on a poem she wrote following the death of Sinead O'Connor. The melody for the song was already there as I read Diane's words the first time - I had never experienced this before, and it was quite powerful.
This song serves as a creative lifeline for Diane's "Hold On Campaign" which seeks to help with suicide prevention through the arts. "Holding the Heart When it Breaks" has won awards around the world, and we are grateful for the recognition as it helps this message of hope and healing be shared with those dealing with the dark reality of suicide.
