Experiencing Interruptions?

Hold My Hand

This documentary offers an insight into the contemporary Hungarian child protection system, into a child protection professional's day, the memories of children who have experienced the system and are now adults, and the dreams of some children currently in foster care.

This film is a love child. It was born from love and pain. It is authentic because it does not judge. It doesn't try to drag the viewer into the depths; it moves along the fine line where the message touches, but the emotions have not yet clouded the clarity of vision. It speaks about the child and childhood, about carefree games of tag and smiles amidst the ruins. It is about Tamara, about perseverance, and the constant renewal amidst the tragedies of everyday life. It speaks of strength, weakness, and infinite vulnerability. With its intimate imagery and presence, it lifts the veil, offering a brief glimpse into the issues at hand. It is a sound play because the text is the protagonist. A visual poem that tells the story of a day, moving from reality towards the world of dreams. The two support each other, enhancing one another. It touches both your childlike and parental selves. It speaks to you and awaits answers. From all of us.
