Located in the northernmost part of Japan, Hokkaido has its own unique nature and culture.

With four distinct seasons and different climates in different regions due to its topography, location, ocean currents, and seasonal winds, Hokkaido has long served as a food base for Japan.

The natural bounty born here has been sublimated into delicious cuisine and has produced first-rate chefs who prepare it.

Sapporo, the center of the region, has the potential to become a world-class food city.

In December 2022, the City of Sapporo, the Hokkaido Shimbun, and Creative Office Cue concluded a "Collaboration Agreement on Promoting Sapporo's Food and Cultural Attractiveness through Video".

This project aims to "develop Hokkaido's food culture and nurture its bearers (producers, chefs, and creators)" and "establish its attractiveness and brand and gain unwavering competitiveness" by holding the "Hokkaido Food Film Festival," which links catenary films with Hokkaido's food and tourism.

The "Hokkaido Food Film Festival" will serve as a platform to connect participants, film professionals, chefs, producers, and all other people involved in Hokkaido's food and tourism industry, and will aim to promote Hokkaido's attractiveness to the world and promote regional development in food and tourism.

A pre-event was held in March 2024. And finally, the main event will be held in November.
There, we will introduce excellent culinary films not only from Japan but also from around the world!

Please check out the video of the pre-event on the official website.
