Director Statement

This short is an adaptation of a theater monologue written by Joshua Todd James called HOG. The monologue was my scene study piece in an acting workshop I attended with Joshua. It resonated with me and with Joshua's permission I adapted it for a screenplay, which was a fantastic challenge. I had never adapted another person's work. The task of balancing the spoken word, originally written for the stage, and my own imagery for the film was a delicate dance. I am quite happy with the final cut. I hope it resonates with you as it did for me.

This film was shot on a Galaxy S20+. Total production time included approximately 2 weeks of pre-production, 3 days of principal photography and 1 week of post-production.
