Experiencing Interruptions?

Hicktown

Amber, a young woman stuck in rural Texas, feels trapped by her racist white family and the suffocating isolation of her small town, where she's always been the only one who looks like her. Struggling with low self-esteem and desperate for a way out, Amber reluctantly submits to the family’s exploitative business, sacrificing herself for her mother and brothers' gain.

Everything changes when she meets Lenny, a hardworking Black man recently released from prison, determined to rebuild his life and escape the town's stifling grasp. Despite the odds and the societal barriers between them, Amber and Lenny find solace in each other, igniting a forbidden love that inspires them to break free.

As they flee together, their journey becomes one of self-discovery, resilience, and transformation, challenging them to confront their pasts and rewrite their futures in a world stacked against them.
