Co-Directors Johnny Ventimiglia and Victor Oliveria bring two different perspectives to create one vision. Victor's credits include the feature length film, "The S.S. Swenson" (2019) as well as a number of shorts. Johnny's credits include "Brookylino" (2019) and the project they co-directed, "Hi Frances, I Love You". In the creative environment that is Brooklyn, NY Johnny and Victor have come together to collaborate on a number of projects (Brookylino, 2019; Cucina, 2019) and work to tell stories about the parts of life that highlight our shared experience. Themes they typically explore are family, immigration, substance abuse, love, and redemption. They are both fans of the New York Mets.
This film didn't start out as a film at all. Originally this was planned as a way to make a really good home movie that could be passed down through the generations. But when we saw how electric Frances was, it became abundantly clear that we needed to document this person and her perspectives. "Hi Frances, I Love You" is a short documentary for anyone who wants to take trip back to Grandma's house, to remember the sights, sounds, stories, and the food.
