Heritage
I was given a stack of used DV tapes to use in my documentary work, but some of them have old local news footage on them. I can't bring myself to just erase them, so I decided to use them to make music under my alter ego Bone Music
I use still frames from the footage within an image synthesizer called Alchemy to create an ambience from the colour and intensity of pixels within the image. I also use fragments of the original audio, manipulated by stretching, reversing and digital processing.

Chris is a location sound recordist and also makes broadly unlistenable noise art for fun. She has worked in sound for several years, including making online content for sketchy international investment funds, talking puppets and quirky fridge manufacturers.
I have a passion for finding the music in the everyday, and for reviving old tech and forgotten moments. I make sound art as Bone Music, and this is one of my favourite projects - trawling old news DV tapes for interesting sounds to manipulate in to broadly unsettling pieces.
