My name is Anthony Paulino, I'm a New York City based filmmaker with an affinity for writing and directing unique and compelling narratives. I earned a Bachelors of Arts in Film from Hunter College in the spring of 2018. My interest in film first began in the latter half of my sophomore year of college. Originally, I wanted to become an animator due to a childhood love of drawing. However, it was only until I enrolled in an animation class during the fall semester of said sophomore year, that I realized animation wasn’t my calling. Luckily, to my surprise, an introductory production class I was attending at the same time opened my eyes to the endless wonders of filmmaking. It was in this class that I learned how to operate a camera, direct actors, and even use editing programs such as Adobe Premiere Pro. I instantly fell in love with the process of film-making after this; from Pre-Production to Principal Photography to Post Production. The level of creative expression and stimulation that I was able to attain was unlike what I had experienced from anything prior. That's when I knew that my dream was to become a filmmaker.
The making of this short was one of the most positive experiences I've had on set. We shot it in an Airbnb in Bushwick with a crew of 3 in the span of 4 hours. Everything went off without a hitch; which rarely happens. The fascinating part is that people tend to favor this particular film over the ones I've toiled over for longer. Maybe its due to the fact that it's arguably the best looking film I've ever made.
