Director Biography - Tari Harrison

Tari Harrison was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. She moved across country to attend Shaw University where she majored in Mass Communications. During her undergraduate studies she realized a shift in her career goals.

Those once before entertainment reporter dreams, turned into editing, producing, directing but at its core Tari knew visual storytelling was her true passion. As long as she had control of the narrative she would be happy doing that for the rest of her days.

While in graduate school at SCAD University, Tari vigorously worked on her skills as a filmmaker. This is where she hone in her screenwriting skills and the constant drill of “Save the Cat” was embedded in her head.

To see the stages manifest from an envisioned idea, to a written digital document, that was read in front of classmates, to then be screened for the class and being well reviewed was a reward in itself.

Currently as a podcast producer and indie filmmaker Tari get’s the opportunity to shape stories in various ways. She wants to continue shaping stories but she also wants to reach more people with her stories and perhaps start more conversations that go deeper than the narrative put in play.
