Helper is a small town nestled at the foot of the Book Cliffs in southeastern Utah's Castle Country. Historically regarded as the "Hub of Carbon County," Helper was established as a focal point of local coal mining and railroad activities. More recently, a community of artists has taken root in Helper and the town's identity is being reshaped into a center for cultural events, as well as outdoor recreation.
For over twenty years, the Helper Arts Festival has been growing into an important regional event. In 2016, the festival's mission was expanded into the realm of film. We invite all filmmakers to submit their work, and welcome all visitors to enjoy the beautiful natural setting and charming Old West appeal of Helper, Utah!
