Director Statement

Help wanted was essentially a no budget and time crunched project spanning over the course of around 10 days from script writing to final cut. The most significant costs during the making of this film were the large format printing fees from a local print shop. I created all the artwork that is portrayed throughout the film and staged the set with furniture and decor from my office and home. We filmed over the course of 2 days with a Sony HDV Z5U, shotgun mic, and 2 studio lights. I've always wanted to make a short film and chose comedy for a more lax environment for my first time. I was certainly nervous to do a comedy with the fear of it not actually being "funny" but I think we did quite well for a first attempt. Regardless, we all had a great time making the film and I hope it at least makes you chuckle. All the best and thanks for watching!
