Welcome to the Hellfire Horror Film Festival - or what we like to call the Hellfire HORRORfest.

Hellfire HORRORfest is a horror film festival held at The Tower Theatre, Folkestone, this October. The festival – a first for Folkestone – consists twelve hours of back-to-back horror films from around the world.

Prepare to have a bloody good time and be scared out of your mind at this devilishly delightful event!

Dress up for the festival – the scarier the better – and be in with a chance of winning a prize!

Hellfire HORRORfest is Kent’s only horror film festival and is hosted jointly by Hellfire Film Festival, best known for the internationally recognised Hellfire Short Film Festival, and the iconic Tower Theatre, Folkestone.

Hellfire Film Festival is an organisation devoted to showcasing the best and brightest of independent cinema from around the globe, advancing the careers of filmmakers through screenings, networking events, and various panels and forums.

HOW WE BEGAN
- - - - - - - - - - - - - -
The idea for a film festival was first mooted in early 2014 by a group of creative individuals after realising that although Folkestone hosts many creative festivals throughout the year – including music, art, light, book, performance and not forgetting the internationally recognised Folkestone Triennial and the Strange Love Festival – there was no festival specifically dedicated to film.

Being a filmmaker himself and having been involved in the Meniscus Film Festival (the original, not the new Australian festival bearing the same name) in his hometown of Grimsby (Lincolnshire), Gary Ingoldby-Spate started the groundwork to launch a film festival for Folkestone.

In 2016 the Hellfire Short Film Festival was launched and received over 3,300 submissions in its first season. Season Two will begin later this year.
