Held For A Moment

Edward Japp was raised in London where he studied acting for a year at Drama Centre in order to learn how to direct actors. The following year, Edward attended the BA course in film making at Central Saint Martins from which he graduated two years ago.

He has been working in film/moving image for the past 6 years, working on adverts and music videos, documentaries and stop motion animation films. Starting off as a Director of Photography, he learned how to tell a story with camera movement, colour and composition. He studied filmmaking at Central Saint Martins, did a course at Panavision and can operate most of the cameras currently used in the professional industry. As a DOP he has created work for numerous production companies and organisations including The BBC (“Call the Midwife”), Lucas Films (Rogue one), C4, Arte, English National Ballet, Style.com, Vans, Chanel, Tommy Hilfiger and many more. In his free time, he has also been creating short films on micro budgets but he now felt experienced and confident enough to take on a larger budget and direct Held For A Moment.

Edward has now started a production company with Antonia Desplat entitled Luna Moon Productions in order to tell stories about women that are entirely based on real-life testimonies and female orientated narratives.
