Growing up, I'd always heard that if you find a job you love, you’ll never work a day in your life. I was fortunate to find my passion at PBS. For 20 years, I’ve produced award-winning documentaries for two PBS television stations. My primary documentary focus is history. In the past 6 years, I’ve created an hour-long documentary: African Americans: The Las Vegas Experience and a three-part documentary series: Makers: Women In Nevada History. Both aired on Vegas PBS and both won awards including Emmys and Tellys. My most recent documentary: The Showgirl: A Las Vegas Icon is my favorite work. In the past, I haven’t entered my productions for many contests, and never a film festival. I’m excited to learn my first entry into a film festival, the Bare Bones International Music and Film Festival, has been nominated as Best Documentary.
When it comes to The Showgirl: A Las Vegas Icon, I was allowed complete freedom to produce the film I wanted within the small budget I had. I filled many roles: Director, Producer, Writer as well as the selector of music. The film has received a very warm reception from the community and I’m excited to see it reach its full potential – I want as many people to see it as possible.
I am a mother of two and live in Las Vegas with my husband of 24 years.
