Heart of Recovery
“Heart Of Recovery” takes viewers on a compelling journey into the heart of The Beacon House Association of San Pedro, a state-licensed-and-certified substance abuse recovery program that has been a transformative force in the lives of countless men for over five decades. Nestled on a city block in San Pedro, CA, The Beacon House Association operates five residential facilities, two outpatient clinics, a dining hall, two retail locations known as Beacon House Thrift Shops, and a meeting hall, all dedicated to providing a comprehensive and immersive recovery experience. Their proven success model for personal transformation is rooted in the 12-step program and emphasizes the need for a community grounded in character building and spiritual values for men to realize their full potential and live productive, purpose-driven lives. At the core of the Beacon House Association is its flagship "Social Model" program, offering a full "continuum of care" that adapts to the evolving needs of individuals as they progress through recovery. Through intimate interviews, powerful testimonials, and a behind-the-scenes look at daily life within The Beacon House community, the documentary paints a vivid portrait of hope, resilience, and the triumph of the human spirit over addiction.
