Head up, Honey. A Story About Healing.

Belgium, 2022. Head up, Honey is a story about the basic human needs to be seen, valued and heard. And a woman whose life changed completely 10 years ago by a chance meeting with a professional skateboarder at a very turbulent and difficult time in her life.

It reminds us that in our complex digitized societies, a sense of community, appreciation, physical movement, playfulness , and help can be healing and make people flourish.

Veerle makes us reimagine what it means to be a skateboarder in 2022. A time when skateboarding is in a very inclusive phase of its history, where all kinds of styles, tricks, levels and backgrounds are accepted. Moving away from one style and from a dominated and rebellious life to an inclusive, non-competitive activity, with a focus on mental health and the healing potential of something as mundane as pushing a plank of wood on wheels. A story about hope, redemption and gratitude.
