"He IS Warm" - Tracksmith New England Mock Commercial

This is a mock commercial for Tracksmith New England, an athletic clothing brand based in Massachusetts. This was made for my Advertising Practicum class that I took during the Winter Interterm (two weeks before the Spring semester beings). It was made for the major project - the final project for the advertising campaign and redesign of our chosen athletic brand. I was tasked to create a proof of concept commercial that would be submitted in order to be made with real production and crew. I decided to challenge myself on this project and I shot this entirely with the Sony ZV-1 on my college campus. We had one week to do everything while also having to create many graphics and advertising material all at the same time.

Director Statement

Analyzing the culture we live in, I realized it lacks a crucial part of communication: storytelling. Humans thrive on storytelling, whether it is a story of our trip to the supermarket or a made-up story about an alien race who comes to earth looking for a single cup of sugar, but no one can understand them. The limits to our imagination are endless, yet the art form is dying. The age of mindless action and meaningless special effects are overtaking the place of a well-told story.
As an artist, I try to tell the best stories I can. I love the DIY look that indie filmmaking has and I aim to harness that style to tell the best of stories. Whether it be in film, comics, or photography, my goal is to never replace the value of a story for anything less.
