My name is Omar Hazmiri, a 24-year-old graduate from the Higher
Institute of Audiovisual and Cinema in 2022. In 2023, I debuted with my
first short documentary titled "The Land," when I took a journey with my
mother to her native land and got to know her better, the film was
featured in the prestigious program "Moroccan Stories" supported by the
Scottish Documentary Institute, Fida Doc, and funded by The British
Council. That same year, I collaborated with my friend and filmmaker,
Imran Rahani, on the documentary "Scenes From Sale," where I served
as the cinematographer. Despite its modest budget, the film gained
recognition at various national and international film festivals, including
the Rabat Author Film Festival and the Big Sky Documentary Festival.
Beyond my documentary work, I've established myself as a versatile
freelancer, adept in videography, scripting, and video editing. Over the
past three years, I've navigated the market, focusing primarily on
documentary filmmaking. Currently, I'm immersed in the development of
my first feature-length documentary, a captivating blend of historical
narrative and drama. I am eagerly anticipating the commencement of
filming later this year, poised to embark on yet another creative journey
