Born and raised in the Philippines, Noli Manaig never went to film school. He is self-taught and works alone on all aspects of his films. His first short film won the Cultural Center of the Philippines' Gawad Alternatibo for Best Experimental film in 2019 and was nominated for Best Short Film in the Gawad Urian and FAMAS Awards in 2020. He holds a degree in English Studies and has published a book of poems. This is his first attempt at an animated film.
