Hausher Dhua
‘Hausher Dhua’ documentary film depicts the thousand-year-old folk tradition of Dhua songs and the lives of the artists of these songs. It has been shown that in rural areas music has become an integral part of daily life. The artists get together at night after completing the day's work and they share their joys and sorrows with each other. After being initiated by Ustad Muktel Hassan, now Shahaj, Jabed Ali and their team go to different places and perform this dhua songs at the invitation of the people. The audience as well as they are satisfied by singing these songs. Each of them describes their own experiences based on these songs. In this documentary we are watching the performance style, the content of the songs, the musical instruments and dance choregraphy in line with the lyrics of these songs. In addition to portraying the life of the artists here, we have also explored the nature of our own culture.

Md. Rasel Rana (Doza) is an independent filmmaker. Born on 21 October 1989 in Rekhirpara village of Melandah police station in Jamalpur district. In 2019, he completed a postgraduate diploma course in filmmaking (directing) from the Bangladesh Cinema and Television Institute (BCTI). Earlier he obtained a MBA degree from the National University. His first documentary ‘Hausher Dhua’ won the Best Documentary, Best Director (Documentary), Best Editing, Best Sound Design awards at the Bangladesh Short & Documentary Film Festival 2021 arranged by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. Now he is making two other short documentaries- Sonar Tori and Malsi.
He is a stage actor of Aranyak Natyadal also. Among the stage plays he has acted in Iblish, Dakghar, Zamindar Darpan, Payer Awaaz Paaya, Subchan Nirvasane, Indur Bilai Khela, etc. He has acted in several television dramas and advertisements. He is currently studying folk music in the department of Chayanat, making films as well as researching ancient Bengali folk music for a long time.
