Director Biography - Alcario Cary Cadena

Alcario Cary Cadena is a History teacher, screenwriter and novelist who grew up in Los Angeles, CA. in the mid 1970's. The environment he grew up in was one of gang violence and poverty, and he was every bit a part of it. His family, (siblings and parents) nine in all, did not graduate from high school, although Cadena went on to study the PhD in Education. He published a novel based on one of his screenplays, "The Curandero". The novel is based on his research and what would have been his dissertation, Don Pedrito Jaramillo, famous Texas healer from the turn of the 20th century.

Director Statement

This screenplay, a paranormal suspense thriller, was shot into a feature film In a week and was written based on my experience with the Supernatural. I wore all the hats for the making of the film, and had one crew member who basically furnished props. The location where we shot "Haunting on 13th Street" turned out to be a legitimate haunted house where orbs, voices and an anomaly that looked like a little girl, was captured on film and sound recording devices. I am blessed to get to work on my dream everyday when I can. Film making has given me a purpose, I help people follow their dreams while following mine.
