Hashem Aliakbari is an Iranian producer, production manager, and emerging director with over two decades of experience in film, television, and theater. He has worked on more than 100 productions, many of which have been broadcast nationally or screened internationally. While best known for his behind-the-scenes work in major Iranian media productions, he has recently begun directing his own independent films. He was formally educated in directing cinema, bringing a grounded and technical understanding to his narrative work.

His 2024 short documentary, Flight Among Shadows, was selected by several international film festivals and received awards for its socially engaged storytelling. Burial Permit is his latest directorial project, continuing his interest in stories that explore the intersection of law, identity, and human dignity.
