Eric Stehfest is a German TV actor and film maker. He was starring several soap opera series, wrote a book about his former crystal meth addiction that became national bestseller and was producing a short series about addiction.
For 'Vater' he teamed up with Victoria Braunholz, a young upcoming film maker.
Victoria Braunholz started as a writer for several German web-TV productions. Together with Eric Stehfest and a German film production company she is currently working on her first own big project. Vater is her second debut project as a director.
Vater is the story about the results of collapsing communication between generations and getting lost in oneself. It is about the dark side we all have in ourselves. For me, Victoria, it was especially important to point out the details before getting to the bigger picture, because this reffers to how we see and judge the world around us. I wanted to show the brutality of silence between people. However, I also wanted to make sure giving a glimpse of how to escape and that we don't necessarily have to walk on the paths, which others left for us.
