Harpy

Based in South Africa, I am heavily influenced by traditional cinema from the west and contemporary visuals from the east. The set and authenticity of props are just as important as the subject. I utilise in-camera effects to create images that retain their sense of movement. Focusing on conceptual fine art portraiture and fantasy digital art.

Michelle, an artist and MUA, transforms herself and models into her vision through prosthetics, makeup and costume. Her creative approach is radical and spontaneous. She becomes the creature she creates in front of the camera and often uses dance instead of poses to assist the flow and authenticity of the shoot.
