I’m Harald Rom Kveseth Spjelkavik, a director from Trondheim, Norway. I didn’t always know I wanted to make films. In fact, I didn’t even know I wanted to make films at all — until I turned 21 and had a brilliant idea: ‘Why not move to Oslo, live with my friends, and maybe take a film class to look like I’m doing something with my life?’ And that’s how I ended up in film school. The whole ‘passion for cinema’ thing? Yeah, that came a bit later. It was mostly sparked by one very enthusiastic teacher who treated every movie like it was the second coming of Citizen Kane 0— which, to be honest, made me wonder if maybe I’d accidentally found my calling. So, in the end, my love for film didn’t come from some grand, cinematic epiphany. It came from wanting to avoid getting a real job. And that’s how my journey as a director began — less 'visionary filmmaker,' more 'guy trying to stay out of the 9-to-5 grind.'
