Director Statement

Jada has always been my helpdog. I was born with a rare physical disorder, called Klippel Weber Syndrome, which gave me many complications and she would assist me with life. However, she worked overtime when I had a stroke a few years ago. (My stroke story is covered in the Febuary 2019 Issue of the Cincinnati Magazine as part of the American Heart Association's Go Red for women Campaign)
As helpful and perceptive and trained as she is, she doesn't like to take baths but she absolutely LOVES car rides. I made "Happy Bath Day" to show the innocent loyalty of a pet. She trusted me when it came to getting in the car, but things changed the moment she realized that we were at the dog wash. I wanted to see if I could capture that juxtaposition between loyalty and self preservation.
