Hanne Biesemans (Zottegem, ° September 2, 1999) is a Flemish animator and illustrator. Born into an artistic and musical nest, she took harp, tap dance and drawing lessons. It soon became clear that her calling lay in the visual arts. She began her secondary studies in art at the TIHF (Maricolen) in Bruges, where
she learned an extensive basic knowledge of techniques such as observational drawing, painting, photography and graphic design. Hanne continued her studies at LUCA School of Arts in Ghent (Visual Design; Studio Still) and did an internship at a screen printing start-up company (Puma Press) in Antwerp. Through a gap year she ended up at LUCA School of Arts in Brussels where she made her first (bachelor) stop-motion film.
ILLUSTRATION
Hanne makes birth cards on demand. She also received numerous assignments such as making a window drawing for the Rabot district health center for the city of Ghent and illustrations for a new Natuurpunt walk in the Burreken (municipalities of Brakel, Maarkedal and Horebeke, East Flanders).
ANIMATION
Hannes animation career started in the 7th preparatory year at SKI in Ghent. There she made three-dimensional ceramic tiles with a white and blue glaze. These tiles were the subject of an experimental animation with an alienating effect. From April to September 2020, they were exhibited at the Dutch Tile Museum in Otterlo.
During her studies at Luca Ghent she was introduced to 2D - animation: a short cartoon about capitalism (called 'Sepia'), television bumpers for the channel National Geographic and a 2 - dimensional bachelor film about the deportation of Sudeten Germans just after World War II.
In her switch year at LUCA Brussels, she started working on this theme again, but in the stop motion technique. Since then, she has been bitten by this film technique.
