Welcome to the second annual Hanford Film Festival, held at the beautiful and historic Fox Theater in the heart of Hanford, CA. Built in 1929, the wonderfully restored atmospheric palace style theater provides a thematic ambience of movie greatness for the Hanford Film Festival. The Festival will commence on the evening of March 7, 2020.

The Hanford Film Festival aims to celebrate the Central Valley’s most talented filmmakers by showcasing their work on the silver screen for a captive live audience. The Festival focuses on short films. It welcomes entries from young, developing, student and seasoned filmmakers alike. Entries from Central Valley filmmakers compete against each other and submission for Local Short Films before the Earlybird deadline is FREE!

The Hanford Film Festival also welcomes filmmakers from around the world! All selected entries will compete for Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Actor, Best Actress and Festival Winner.

All entries for the Hanford Film Festival must be received by January 7, 2020. Entries will be notified of selection status by February 14, 2020.

Ticket holders will experience Early Event Access, Event Photographs, Filmmaker Mixer, Special Local VIP Screening and Access to the upstairs Cabaret Lounge.

Categories include: Short Film, Student Short Film, HS Short Film, Central Valley Short Film, Central Valley Student Short Film, Central Valley HS Short Film, and Local Short Film (Kings/Fresno/Tulare Counties).

All selections will be awarded selection laurels.
All winners will be awarded winner laurels.

Winners of the Short Film, Student Short Film, HS Short Film, Central Valley Short Film, Central Valley Student Short Film, Central Valley HS Short Film and Local Short Film categories will be awarded official Hanford Film Festival certificates.

Hanford Film Festival Awards will be presented to Winners of the Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Actor, Best Actress Festival Winner and the Best Local Film

Best Director and Best Cinematography will be awarded a $100 cash prize.

Festival Winner will be awarded a cash prize of $300.

Films must have been made after January 1, 2018.
Filmmakers must submit a copy of their film via FilmFreeway online submission.
Filmmakers submitting to the Central Valley and Local Categories must be from those locations.
Student Filmmakers must upload a photo of their Student ID or proof of enrollment.
More than one entry may be submitted.
Films can be submitted into more than one category.

Films must be audience appropriate.
Films considered pornographic will not be screened.
Non-experimental films, if in a language other than English should have English subtitles unless it is a thematic choice.
Entry fees are non-refundable.

Entrants retain all of their rights, title and interest in their works and intellectual property.
Entrants are responsible for obtaining any necessary licenses, royalties, release forms, clearances, permits necessary to present their work.
All filmmakers must have exclusive rights to their films as well as any pertinent releases including but not limited to actors image, location image, trademarked or copywritten image and music.
All submitted entry materials must be provided by the submitter and will not be returned.
Hanford Film Festival is hereby granted the right to utilize excerpts, photos, and names of filmmakers from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the film festival for promotional purposes. Hanford Film Festival reserves the right to publish festival selections, winners and award recipients.
The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations. The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless Hanford Film Festival from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses including but not limited to, attorney's fees and costs of the court which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.

The selection committees’ and judges' decisions are final.
