Director Statement

As the director of "half salary," my intention was to shed light on the cultural expectations and gender roles that exist in many societies around the world.
Through the story of kavya, a newlywed woman who challenges these norms by choosing to support her own parents, we see the complexity of these expectations and the impact they can have on individual lives and relationships.
Kavya's struggle is a universal one, as many individuals find themselves in similar situations, torn between their loyalty to their family of origin and their new family.
By exploring the tensions and conflicts that arise, we hope to encourage dialogue and understanding between generations and cultures, and to challenge the status quo.
The film highlights the importance of compromise, communication, and empathy in resolving conflicts and achieving harmony in relationships. Through kavya's journey, we see the power of love and the selfrespect of individuals who are willing to stand up for what they believe in.
Overall, my goal as the director was to create a thought-provoking and emotionally engaging film that inspires viewers to reflect on their own beliefs and values, and to appreciate the complexities of the human experience.
