General information:
Dalil Belkhoudir is a contemporary Algerian-Italian director and visual artist.
He was born in Annaba, in the northeast of Algeria, on October 17, 1972
He moved to the Italian capital, Rome, in the late 1980s, where he joined La Sapienza University and studied at the Department of Earth Sciences, where he obtained a doctorate in geology in 2000.
He was active in the cultural field in the Italian capital, Rome, and was involved in the cultural association "Politecnico XX Arte". Where he organized and participated in numerous personal and collective exhibitions in Italy and in many other European countries.
Multidisciplinary, he is simultaneously a sculptor, painter, photographer, actor and director.
He was notably famous for his gigantic art installations in many European capitals and for his numerous theatrical scenarios, notably at the "Tinda" theater in Florence, Italy, from 1996 to 1998. He is also considered the founder of the Art Action movement in Italy. at the end of the nineties.
He has participated in many international festivals, the most important of which was his participation in the 53rd edition of the Venice Film Festival in 1996.

In 2019 he also participated in the International Documentary Film Festival "Sidi Mohamed Ben Aouda" and won the Grand Prix Golden Forage Award for his documentary film "La Pierre du Buzzer".
And at the beginning of 2020, and with the outbreak of the Corona virus and the resulting closure of performance halls and the complete cessation of all cultural activities, globally, the first virtual international short film festival was created in Algeria (Domum Festival), which was a great success.
Rich in this extraordinary experience and in view of the exceptional health situation that continues, he decides to create the first international monthly virtual festival of short films in Algeria (the International Digital Gate Festival for Short Film), which imposes itself on the local and international cultural landscape stage from one edition to another as one of the main cultural events, And it continues until today, and more than 6,000 short films from 137 countries of the world have participated in it in 33 consecutive monthly editions without interruption.
It is considered the longest cinematic event in the history of Algerian cinema.
It is the first eco-friendly festival, as the festival management plants a number of trees per month which corresponds to the number of films participating in each session of the festival, and it offers many activities, all inspired by the United Nations 2030 Agenda. and the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals.
The members of the committees and permanent ambassadors of the Digital Gate International Short Film Festival come from 17 different nationalities around the world.
