Hair-Poetry

In the realm of unseen and revealing rituals, I find a profound connection through the symbolism of hair. It's like sculpting a person, shaping them with every cut. There's a stark contrast between casually brushing your hair, and then, with deliberate intention, collecting the fallen strands and consigning them to the trash. The act of cutting one's hair signifies something deeper—the severing of ties, the finality of cutting someone off from your life.
This process mirrors how we sometimes make the painful decision to disconnect from someone we truly love all in the pursuit of preserving or redefining our own identity. In this intricate dance between memories and rituals, the hair becomes a conduit—a memory portal, if you will, leading me back to moments with my mother. It's as if each strand holds a piece of our shared history, an unspoken conversation between us, where love and identity converge and sometimes diverge, leaving us to grapple with the complex dance of self-discovery and connection.
