Hailee Steinfeld

Do you know many actresses who, at the age of 14, were nominated for an Oscar?
Here is one of them - Hailee Steinfeld.
Steinfeld was chosen for the role of Mattie Ross in True Grit when she was 13 from 15000 applicants. The role earned Steinfeld a nomination at the 83rd Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actress
A stylized tale of vengeance set against the backdrop of a classic western, the Coen Brothers' 2010 retelling of True Grit--decidedly rooted in the 1968 novel by Charles Portis rather than the subsequent 1969 film adaptation starring John Wayne--is memorable for a number of reasons, not the least of which is a brilliant, scene-stealing performance from its young lead, Hailee Steinfeld.
Making her feature film debut, the 13-year-old actress fills the central role of Mattie Ross, a resourceful teen who employs a brash U.S. Marshal with a reputation for toughness to hunt down her father's murderer.
Hailee landed the coveted role after an extensive search in which a pair of casting agents auditioned girls across the country for 18 months.
In her biggest project to date, she impressively shines amongst an ensemble cast that includes Jeff Bridges as Mattie's hired gun, Rooster Cogburn; Josh Brolin as her father's killer, Tom Chaney; Barry Pepper as the ringleader of Chaney's gang; and Matt Damon as a Texas Ranger who joins on the manhunt.
Hailee Steinfeld was born on December 11, 1996 in Tarzana, California, to Chery (Domazin), an interior designer, and to Peter Steinfeld, a personal fitness trainer. She has a brother, Griffin. Her uncle is Jake Steinfeld, a fitness trainer, and her great-uncle is actor Larry Domazin. Her father is of Ashkenazi Jewish origin, and her mother is Filipino, African-American, British, and German.
Hailee has a typical career for a Hollywood actress. At an early age, she starred in several short films to gain experience. She played the role of Talia Olden in the film “She is a Fox” (2009), which received several awards.
In May 2011, five months after True Grit was released, Steinfeld was chosen to be the new face of Italian designer brand Miu Miu.
Also in 2011, Steinfeld was cast to play Juliet Capuletty in a adaptation of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. The role was originally intended for a 22-year-old actress; since there was some concern that she would be asked to appear nude in the film, its director explained that when Steinfeld was cast, the script was changed to make it "age-appropriate for a 14-year-old."
The screenwriter added that the film's purity was important, and the main characters "don't make love until they have been married."[
The film was released in 2013 reviews internationally. Steinfeld played Violet, one of the leads in the romance-drama Begin Again.
The film was given a limited release in the United States in 2014,
Steinfeld starred as Petra Arkanian in Ender's Game, a science-fiction action-adventure film based on the book by Orson Scott Card. The film was released in 2013.
Steinfeld played the lead role in The Edge of Seventeen, a coming-of-age comedy co-starring Blake Jenner, Woody Harrelson and Kyra Sedgwick, and written and directed by Kelly Fremon Craig
Steinfeld signed on to star in the Bumblebee-centered Transformers film of the same name, and reprised her role as Emily Junk in Pitch Perfect 3.
In addition, Steinfeld acts as a singer who released several sound tracks.
In 2018, Steinfeld revealed that she is "wrapping up" work on her debut studio album. Steinfeld then featured the song "Colour" with MNEK
in 2018, Steinfeld released the song "Back to Life". It was released as a single from the soundtrack of the film Bumblebee.
Consider the main reasons for the popularity of Steinfeld.
First, the appearance of genetically formed under the influence of mixing the Philippine, African American, Irish and Jewish blood.
Secondly - early success in the cinema.
Third, of course, this is her youth. And, of course, perseverance in acting career.
The growth of popularity contributes to the extraordinary activity in social networks.
As Steinfeld herself admits: "Facebook is my life."
But everything changes in world. Let's see how Steinfeld will play in the future full-fledged roles of adult women, because youth isn’t eternal.
