Director Biography - Vicki Makutu

Vicki Makutu came to directing via over 10 years working as an editor in the television industry.
Her pacy directing style may have been influenced from her time as a fast-turnaround news editor, but she has adapted it successfully to the highly competitive world of online video. Vicki knows that if the audience isn’t hooked in the first few seconds of a video clip, then they’re not going to share it via social media.

The results speak for themselves with content directed and produced by Vicki reaching huge online audiences and her work twice being a finalist in the NZ Webfest awards. Vicki’s happy corporate clients include Careers NZ, who achieved their highest views via the webseries Oompher produced, written, directed, and edited by Vicki and targeted at a rangatahi audience. Clients who have commissioned second follow up series from Vicki due to the audience success of the first series include Careers NZ, Te Māngai Paho, Māori Television and TVNZ.
