Hælder and Lilith

The film is a dendrophallic adaptation of the myth of Lilith. (Mythological Lilith is portrayed as a destructive storm spirit, the soul of beasts of the field, a night demon who lays hold of people who sleep alone causing them erotic dreams and nocturnal orgasms). It aims to illustrate the gender dysphoric struggles of a human body harbouring 2 senses of self. Hælder endeavours for the wholeness of a child-like innocence, only known to them through the full integration of their earthy, dark feminine self (Lilith). Hælder is depicted as hungry, natural and instinctual and as they climb to the treetop, they enter the realm of Lilith-sexuality, a pulsating, throbbing, primal, wordless state of being. This short lived blissful state is unsustainable and, after climaxing, they lose touch with their Lilith anima and her lunar ways resulting in a clear-from-the-start tragic watery grave finale.
