Jiho, a 37-year-old aspiring writer, has been living diligently in pursuit of his debut. However, today, he receives another rejection notice from a writing competition. Jiho spends a listless day teaching writing to the elderly at the local community center. But there is one person who believes in Jiho and loves him warmly, despite everyone else thinking of him as pathetic - Hae-sook.

The adorable 21-year-old Hae-sook goes to the convenience store to buy a lottery ticket to give Jiho a little hope and comfort. She buys the ticket and tears it in half to share with him. However, that night, as Jiho is playing games in his rooftop apartment, his eyes widen when he realizes that the lottery ticket is a winner. Jiho, who becomes obsessed with the lottery ticket that he shared with Hae-sook, seeks her out.
