Director Statement

It was a fun challenge to work with the universal theme of the "crush" as an internal and personal conflict that the viewer scenes metaphorically through the pull of a rope into something seen at times as a dance and at other times as a tug of war. Equally exciting was figuring out how to showcase the song's producer and one man band, by featuring him as the classic comic scapegoat. What you have in the end is the classic, relatable story of a young lovers internal transformation from surrender to power; but with a delightful cultural context as our scapegoat is also the connecting piece as the video unfolds from California to Bombay.
