HOMEWORK
EPISODE 1 from The Dietrich Group's HOMEWORK Series featuring dance artist Sully Malaeb Proulx.
The HOMEWORK SERIES was instigated during the pandemic, an initiative that engages dance artists within a collaborative supportive realm in exploring concepts and ideas activated within our homes -the ‘home’ fueling the creativity of this digital undertaking. This work draws from the immediate, the 'what's at hand' for inspiration and speaks of how creativity can be manifested within a home environment as a setting for evoking unique creation.
Please note that this work is incomplete at this stage. Audio, colorization, credits, and final post will be completed by its online premiere date of May 17th, 2023.

DA HOSKINS - CHOREOGRAPHER/DIRECTOR
DA HOSKINS is a queer artist who explores dance through artistic exchange. Recipient of the Clifford E. Lee Award from the Banff Centre for the Arts, the KMHunter Award and the CanadianStage Award for Direction, Hoskins has created over 60 choreographic works.
In 2008 he launched The Dietrich Group, a platform with which to facilitate collective explorations within his interdisciplinary dancework findings. Hoskins works for invested liberty in expression - exploring creative physical exchange through responsive and reflective immediacy. His work aims to engage the artist within a landscape of ownership and personal choice.
Since its inception, The Dietrich Group has created seven full evening works presented in notable festivals/series such as Festival TransAmerique (Montreal), DanseDanse(Montreal), WorldStage(Toronto), Luminato Festival (Toronto) and the da:ns festival (Singapore). In November of 2013 The Dietrich Group became incorporated as a non for profit company with DA Hoskins as the Artistic Director. To date, The Dietrich Group has created nine full evening works - five produced independently and one as a co-production with Buddies in Bad Times Theatre and one as commissions from WorldStage. National and international venues have selected four of these works - PORTRAIT (Festival TransAmériques, Montréal, June 2010), the triple Dora nominated PARIS1994/Gallery (World Stage at Harbourfront Centre, Toronto, April 2012 and da:ns Festival in Singapore, October 2012), The Land of Fuck (a fable) at the Danse Danse Festival in Montréal in April 2014 and This Is a Costume Drama (World Stage at Harbourfront Centre, Toronto, April 2015.
