5th Hialeah International Film Festival (HIAFF), is an annual worldwide, competition festival. With the participation of 50 countries.

Hialeah International Film Festival celebrates cinema like only South Florida can, with film, fashion, and music.
Haff's mission is to provide a public forum in South Florida in order to advance public interest in films and the independent production of films. To draw worldwide attention to Hialeah as a center for cinema. To encourage the rights of all Hialeah residents to access and experience the power of independent filmmaking, and to promote artistic excellence and the creative freedom of artists without censure.

It’s a city known the world over for its hospitality, culture, and flavors—and it’s also a city that knows how to party. HIAFF is bringing the best of the best of the film world. Hialeah International Film Festival brings compelling, innovative, and inspiring films and filmmakers to Hialeah, Florida.

The festival is for and by independent filmmakers. HIAFF accepts submissions in eleven categories:

The categories are the following
Best Shorts
Best Narrative
Best International Short
Best Animation
Best Documentary
Best Experimental
Best Music Video
Best Local Shorts
Best Web/tv/media series episodes
Best Student Shorts
Best Comedy Shorts

All films submitted will be juried by an international panel of filmmakers and film scholars. Festival events include screenings of 50+ films, discussions, and panels with invited filmmakers and local/regional experts; an opening night Gala; Filmmakers Reception Saturday evening; and special events.

Filmmakers are encouraged to attend and will receive free admission to the entire festival and all events. Come interact with an educated, involved audience!

Awards are offered in each film category, in addition to an Audience Choice award. Everyone will receive a certificate honoring his title and film.

Submissions are open, the final selection of films will be announced September 8, 2022, and the film festival takes place on TBA. Selected films in each category are eligible for several awards. In addition to our lineup of films, the festival also hosts multiple filmmaker parties and networking events at venues around Hialeah and Miami

The categories are the following documentary, narrative, animated, web/tv/new media series episodes and student films for NOVEMBER 19, 2022. All films submitted will be juries by an international panel of filmmakers and film scholars.

Screeners can be submitted only electronically by FilmFreeway but please note that we use digital files for screening at the film festival, if you are unwilling or unable to provide a digital file for the festival. You must give us access to download it. (Please add your password) Specially If you are in the Official Selection. (We will need your access, or we will need to disqualify your film if we can't download it.)
