HER: A Disintegrated Notion
HER - A Disintegrated Notion is a film looking to bring to light the true narrative of an everyday Zimbabwean woman. Perception plays a very big role in how women are viewed, the idea of what a woman is and what she faces in Zimbabwe is completely different from what is real and on the ground. The idea (Notion) is blurred, obscured and fantasized (Disintegrated). Statics will show that she is at a disadvantage in many scenarios be it with her health, her work, her home, her environment and surroundings. Supported by Accountability Lab.

As a creative who lives in a marginalized area in my country, I felt is was important to direct and tell our story our own way in view of different narratives that do not necessarily push the agenda of those we seek to empower. I hope the viewer can put themselves in the shoes of the women who are represented in this film through symbolism and understand their needs and the plight of marginalized and rural women all over Africa.
